UPDATE: ‘1000-lb Sisters’ Star Amy Slaton Pleads Guilty To Dr*g Possession

Update: Reality TV star Amy Slaton, known for 1000-Lb Sisters, avoided jail time in Tennessee by reaching a plea agreement in her drug and child abuse case.
Court documents reveal she received a suspended sentence of nearly one year, meaning no time behind bars, after pleading guilty to “simple possession.” Charges of child abuse and child endangerment were dismissed.
As part of the agreement, Amy must complete an alcohol and drug program, pay a $500 fine, and avoid contact with the Tennessee Safari Park in Crockett County. The arrest occurred when Amy took her two children to the park.

Police found psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana in plain sight in her car. During the visit, she was bitten by a camel and required medical attention.

Original Story (Sept. 3): What started as a trip to the zoo ended with 1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton going to jail.

The 36-year-old reality star was arrested at Safari Park in Alamo, Tenn., on Monday (Sept. 2).

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrest in a quirky Facebook post that was titled,

“From feeding a camel to the slammer.”

Police say deputies were called to the zoo after

“a guest was allegedly bitten by a camel.”

When they arrived,

“deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle.”

Amy Slaton was arrested on illegal possession of Schedule I drugs and illegal possession of Schedule VI drugs, along with child endangerment.

Schedule I drugs include: heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marijuana (cannabis), 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy), methaqualone, and peyote. The most common Schedule VI drugs are marijuana and THC.

A man named Brian Scott Lovvorn was also in the car and has been charged with the same violations as Amy Slaton.

They were both booked in the Crockett County Jail.

It’s not clear which children were in the vehicle, however, Amy shares two sons, Gage, 4, and Glenn, 2, with her former husband Michael Halterman.
