Andre 3000 Reveals How Prince ‘Saved’ The OutKast Reunion Tour
Andre 3000 is opening up about how #Prince helped turn around the OutKast Reunion Tour.
In a recent appearance on The New York Times’ Popcast podcast, Andre recalled a 2014 conversation with Prince:
“The first thing he [Prince] said was, ‘You know what your problem is? You don’t understand how big you are. This artist and that artist—they wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for y’all [OutKast]. You have to remind people who you are.’ This is Prince saying this.”

Andre went on to explain that when he told Prince he didn’t want to perform his older music, Prince responded, “I’ve been there. I know exactly what you mean, but you’re a grown man, and you signed up for this.”
Andre 3000 credits those words with helping to change the course of OutKast’s 2014 reunion tour, which featured over 40 festival dates in celebration of the group’s 20th anniversary.
