Man Arrested At U.S. Capitol Carrying Machete & Knives While Trying To Enter Jimmy Carter’s Memorial

A man carrying a machete and three knives was arrested Wednesday at the U.S. Capitol as Jimmy Carter lay in state. Kevin Horne, 44, was stopped at the Capitol Visitor Center when police detected the weapons during an X-ray screening. Security measures were briefly suspended, but the incident did not disrupt public viewing of Carter’s casket.

Horne faces charges of carrying dangerous weapons, with no active threat to the Capitol reported. Trump and Biden are set to attend Carter’s funeral.

Thankfully, no one was injured.
