Big Sean Shares Advice For Women Coping w/ Miscarriage After Personal Loss w/ Jhené Aiko: ‘You’re Worthy’
Big Sean reflected on the grief he and longtime partner Jhené Aiko experienced after suffering a miscarriage.
On the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, he shared,
“From a man’s perspective, you’re worthy. I don’t want you to think you’re inadequate or broke because of this.”
The rapper, 36, emphasized the unpredictability of life, adding,
“You may be blessed with a child later or in another way. Sometimes loss opens doors to unexpected blessings.”
Big Sean first mentioned the loss in his 2020 song “Deep Reverence,” rapping, “We lost the baby.” Despite the heartbreak, the couple welcomed their son Noah in November 2022, following a 24-hour labor during a lunar eclipse.
The rapper encourages others facing such loss to process their grief without letting it consume them:
“Go through it, express yourself, but keep an open mind. Sometimes you have to go through it to get to it.”
Prayers to anyone dealing with the lasting effects of a miscarriage.
