Tyrese Gibson Drops $1 Million Lawsuit Against Home Depot Over Alleged Racial Profiling
Tyrese Gibson has officially ended his legal battle with Home Depot, where he sought $1 million in damages following an alleged racial profiling incident in 2023.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Tyrese informed the court on January 27 that he was dismissing all claims against the home improvement store “with prejudice.” The actor initially filed the lawsuit alongside two associates, accusing the store of discrimination during a visit to a Los Angeles location on February 11, 2023.

Tyrese claimed that after being recognized by other customers, he left his associates at the register with his credit card. He alleged that the cashier initially said they could complete the purchase without him but later refused, demanding Tyrese return to the register with identification.
Home Depot denied any wrongdoing and said in a statement,
“Diversity and respect for all people are core to who we are, and we do not tolerate discrimination in any form. We value Mr. Gibson as a customer, and in the months since this happened, we’ve reached out to him and his attorneys several times to try to resolve his concerns.”
The company’s legal team argued that security footage showed no interaction between Tyrese and the cashier and questioned his claims of emotional distress, noting he had not provided evidence of a medical exam.
While Tyrese has now exited the case, one of his associates plans to take the fight to trial.
