Tiger Woods Announces The Passing Of His Mother Kultida Woods: ‘A Force Of Nature’
Prayers up for Tiger Woods and his family.
In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter) earlier today (Feb. 4), the golf icon shared the sad news that his mother, Kultida Woods, has passed away. He wrote:
“It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning. My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh.”
Tiger continued:
“She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter. Without her, none of my personal achievements would have been possible. She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie. Thank you all for your support, prayers, and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you, Mom.”

As Tiger mentioned, Kultida Woods was a pivotal part of his legendary career. Not only was she present for all his major milestones, but she also reportedly had a special influence on his game. Reports note that Tiger famously wore red on Sundays during tournaments as a tribute to his mother after she declared it was her “power color.”
Kultida reportedly met Tiger’s father, Earl Woods, in the 1960s while he was stationed in Thailand with the U.S. Army. The couple welcomed Tiger in 1975 and were married until Earl’s death in 2006.
One of Kultida’s last appearances was supporting Tiger with her grandkids at his World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2022. At this time, the cause of Kultida’s passing has not been publicly disclosed. She was reportedly 78 years old.
