Rapper Destroy Lonely Says He Smokes ‘Like A Hundred Cigarettes & Sleeps’ To Prepare For Live Shows
Rap star Destroy Lonely is giving fans a peek into his interesting pre-show ritual.
The 23-year-old opened up about his get-ready process in a recent interview with Clash, where he was asked how he gets into “mode” before delivering his signature high-energy performances to increasingly larger crowds.
With a laugh, Destroy Lonely replied:
“I smoke like a hundred cigarettes and sleep.”

While it’s unclear if he was exaggerating, the cigarette-smoking aesthetic has reportedly become a staple of the broader Opium brand, the label to which he’s signed.
His comments sparked comparisons to other artists like Post Malone, who has also been open about his heavy cigarette use in the past, once referencing the legendary Johnny Cash as someone who still “sounded cool” despite his smoking habit.
Do you think Destroy Lonely was serious about his comment?
