Former NFL Star Steve Smith Sr. Facing $100K Lawsuit From Husband Of Alleged Mistress, Accused Of Ruining Their Marriage w/ S*xual Affair & Explicit Messages
Former NFL star Steve Smith Sr. is facing a hefty lawsuit for his messy off-field situation.
The retired wide receiver is being sued by Antonio Martinez, who claims Smith had an affair with his wife — and he’s taking him to court under North Carolina’s alienation of affection law, also known as the
“homewrecker law.”

Filed April 28 in Mecklenburg County, the lawsuit accuses Smith, 45, of breaking up the marriage between Antonio and his wife, Nicole Martinez, and seeks $100,000 in damages along with a jury trial.
According to court documents, things began in September 2024, when Smith was filming an episode of The NFL’s Most Interesting Jobs with Steve Smith in Baltimore.
During the shoot, titled “Steve Smith Sr. JOINS The Baltimore Ravens Marching Band,” Smith allegedly met Nicole — who previously played in the Marching Ravens — and gave her his phone number.
“Subsequently, [Smith] began communicating with Plaintiff’s wife, calling her, and exchanging numerous text messages with her. These messages were often s*xual in nature and included the exchange of photographs and videos, n*de photographs including pictures of Defendant’s p*nis, and videos of Defendant m*sturbating and ej*culating,” the suit reads.
The complaint also alleges that in January 2025, while in town for a Ravens playoff game, Smith slipped Nicole his hotel room key. She reportedly met him later, and the two allegedly had intimate relations.
Antonio claims he discovered the affair after being intimate with Nicole himself — when she confessed. He then confronted Smith over the phone and leaked the audio while publicly outing the alleged affair earlier this year.
Antonio filed for divorce on February 27, and the lawsuit includes personal photos from their wedding and of their son, born in 2021.
It does not appear that Smith, who has been married to his wife Angie since 2000 and shares four children with her, has publicly commented on the suit at this time.
