Earlier today (May 16), a viral post made the rounds online, falsely claiming that Inner City Press reporter Matthew Russell Lee reported Cassie Ventura had testified that she once told Nicki Minaj about the alleged abu$e she was enduring from then-boyfriend Diddy, and that Nicki allegedly brushed it off, telling her to “stop complaining.”
The post quickly spread across social media, with many assuming it was part of the actual legal proceedings.
But Lee, who has been covering the federal case extensively, swiftly shut down the rumor. Taking to X, he clarified that the viral quote is completely fake and was never reported by Inner City Press.
“Note: Inner City Press has been informed that a falsified post of its reporting has been circulating — the post below is NOT from Inner City Press, which is reporting (right now) what’s said in the US v. Sean Combs trial, which has NOT included the below,” he wrote.
As of now, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura’s cross-examination in Diddy’s criminal trial is still ongoing. We will continue to update about the case as more information comes forward.
