Target Suffers More Sales Declines After Rough 1st Quarter, CEO Says: ‘We’ve Got To Drive Traffic Back Into Our Stores’
Target shoppers are pulling back.
According to AP, sales dropped 2.8% to $23.85B in Q1, falling short of expectations… and Target now expects a decline in sales for the full year.
CEO Brian Cornell told reporters, “We’re not satisfied with these results. We’ve got to drive traffic back into our stores or visits to our site.”
Target blames inflation, tariffs, and customer boycotts… and to win shoppers back, they’re rolling out 10,000 new items starting at $1.
