Donald Trump Claims Canada Might Join U.S. As 51st State To Get Free Missile Defense: ‘They Are Considering The Offer’
Donald Trump is at it again.
On Tuesday (May 27), Trump took to Truth Social to claim that Canada is “considering” joining the United States in exchange for protection under the newly announced $175 billion “Golden Dome” missile defense system:
“I told Canada, which very much wants to be part of our fabulous Golden Dome System, that it will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation, but will cost ZERO DOLLARS if they become our cherished 51st State. They are considering the offer!”

The claim follows months of Trump floating the idea of annexing Canada… something Canadian officials and citizens have rejected. Prime Minister Mark Carney, who recently won reelection in part by opposing Trump’s plans, previously told Trump that Canada “won’t be for sale, ever.”
