Brian McKnight Jr. Honors Late Brother Niko: ‘I’ll Live The Rest Of My Life In A Constant State Of Disbelief’

Brian McKnight Jr. shared a heartfelt tribute to his late brother Niko McKnight.

Along with posting memories of them, he wrote:

“I’ll live the rest of my life in a constant state of disbelief. My beautiful baby brother, I will love you until this plain ceases to exist. There is no me without you, so living just feels out of whack. The balance is gone and will never be the same. The entire world feels bleak and dim without you.”

Brian Jr. added:

“I was the luckiest big brother in the universe. It almost seemed unfair at times. Though I’ll never understand this, I’m so glad you are no longer in pain and are now in the aether, playing upon the string theory we both believe in. Wait for me there. This is now officially a Niko stan page. Brothers in arms. Forever. Long live Johnny Boy.”

Niko’s passing after battling cancer was confirmed by their uncle, Claude McKnight.

Claude said in a video shared online addressing family tension:

“I don’t know exactly what was going on there. I know what I’ve seen, I know what I’ve heard from all parties involved… and I try not to judge. I just try to be as loving to each person as I can be, because apparently there was so much hurt going on and a lot of things didn’t get resolved.”

The family has had a complicated history, with Brian McKnight being estranged from his older children for years. Niko previously spoke about disturbing childhood memories and claimed Brian refused to tell him “I love you” when he tried to mend their relationship.
