‘Cheers’ Star George Wendt Died Of Cardiac Arrest, Death Certificate Confirms
The cause of death for George Wendt has officially been confirmed.
According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ, the Cheers star died of cardiac arrest. Underlying causes included congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and hypertension.
Additional contributing conditions were end-stage renal disease (kidney failure) and hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol).

Last month, it was reported that George passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, with his publicist sharing:
“George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him. He will be missed forever. The family has requested privacy during this time.”
