Miley Cyrus Reveals She Wears ‘Very Modest’ Swimsuits Due To Lingering Insecurities From Internet Body Shaming
Miley Cyrus is still working through the body insecurities sparked by viral bullying over a decade ago.
On Monica Lewinsky’s podcast “Reclaiming,” the singer opened up about the lingering impact of cruel 2013 memes mocking her VMAs look.
“There was a couple that were about my body in 2013, and people were putting my head on very unattractive things,” Cyrus recalled. “And I still see that when I put on a bathing suit to this day.” She admitted to opting for “very modest bathing suits,” even during a recent girls trip.
“Everyone else had on a string bikini except me; I was in shorts…like a tank top,” she said. Her sister Brandi teased, “You’re making this cool. But, like, you know this is what a grandma wears to the beach.” Still, Cyrus continues to embrace bold fashion publicly, stepping out last week in a sheer Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress.
Should the internet lay off Miley?
