La La & Carmelo Anthony’s Son Kiyan Playfully Admits His Parents ‘Still Embarrass’ Him + Says La La Is ‘Already Crying’ As He Preps For College
Kiyan Anthony is gearing up for a major life change, and his parents, La La and Carmelo Anthony, are feeling all the emotions.
While chatting with PEOPLE, the 18-year-old revealed that despite being raised by two celebs, he still gets embarrassed by them from time to time, saying:
“Oh, they still do [embarrass me.] They post a lot of videos that I don’t want them to post.”
He added:
“But it’s all good. It’s all jokes…They see me more than anybody, so they got all the funny videos of me, and sometimes they like to troll and post it.”
As he prepares to start his freshman year and play basketball at Syracuse University this fall (his dad’s alma mater!), Kiyan said La La is having a tough time letting go.
“She’s already crying every day,” he stated, adding that he’s “trying to spend a lot of time with her before I leave.”

Meanwhile, Carmelo is expected to be more present during the school year, with Kiyan revealing:
“He’s going to be back and forth from my school and back home. So I’ll be seeing him a lot more.”
Kiyan also opened up about what it means to follow in his dad’s footsteps at Syracuse, where Carmelo famously led the team to an NCAA championship in 2003. He shared:
“It means a lot. It actually means everything…That was a huge part of my decision to go to Syracuse, so him being over there twenty-something years ago and then me coming, trying to follow his footsteps definitely means a lot, and I’m looking forward to see what comes with it.”
Wishing all the best for Kiyan as he embarks on his college journey! Can you relate to La La feeling sad about her son leaving home?
