Ray J Reflects On His Past: ‘I Was Being Filmed, Not Filming’
Ray J is opening up about feeling exploited in his past.
On a recent livestream, the singer got candid about his past:
“I was young. I was in love. I was being led, not leading. I was being filmed, not filming. I was being stripped of more than my clothes. They were peeling off my purpose, my peace, my legacy, my control. Still, I stood there naked. Unarmed. No script. No spin… They used my body as a brand and then told me I was the one who needed to feel ashamed.”
He added,
“Listen, being naked isn’t a problem… it’s what they do with your nakedness that scars you.”
Social media users were quick to connect his words to Kim Kardashian, Superstar… the s*x tape featuring Ray J and Kim Kardashian that was filmed in 2003 and released by Vivid Entertainment four years later. The tape helped catapult Kim and the Kardashian family into the spotlight.
