FDA Allows Juul To Keep Selling Tobacco & Menthol E-Cigarettes Despite Public Concern
The FDA announced that Juul can continue selling its tobacco and menthol e-cigarettes.
The Food and Drug Administration said Juul’s research shows its products are less harmful for adult smokers who switch completely to vaping. The decision covers Juul’s original reusable device and applies specifically to tobacco- and menthol-flavored nicotine cartridges.

If you recall, the FDA ordered the company to pull its products from the market in June 2022 but reversed course days later, agreeing to reopen its scientific review after Juul pushed back in court.
Despite the FDA’s latest move, parents, politicians, and anti-tobacco groups are expected to push back. They argue Juul should be banned due to its connection to the surge in underage vaping.
The FDA emphasized that this decision is not an approval or endorsement, and that non-smokers should not use e-cigarettes.
