Nicole laughed telling the story, saying it was just his playful way of saying hi.

She also reflected on how much Prince meant to her, calling him a mentor and “like a brother.” After seeing her in Cats in 2014, he told her, “You are an analog singer… your voice is too big… this is your stage, Nicole.” She credits him for encouraging her to embrace her voice and believe in her talent.
