‘The Late Show’ Host Stephen Colbert Responds After Trump Celebrates His Show Being Canceled: ‘Go F*ck Yourself’
Stephen Colbert is not going out quietly.
Following CBS’s sudden decision to cancel The Late Show, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to gloat:
“I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next.”
Trump’s post quickly made the rounds, and on Monday night’s (July 21) episode of The Late Show, Colbert delivered a fiery response.
“How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism?” he said directly into his “Eloquence Cam,” before adding, “Go f*ck yourself.”

CBS canceled The Late Show last week, citing “financial reasons.” The decision comes as Colbert has been openly critical of Donald Trump’s administration, which is overseeing the pending approval of Skydance Media’s acquisition of Paramount Global, CBS’s parent company.
