D.L. Hughley Claims Hulk Hogan’s Daughter Refused Inheritance, Skipped Funeral Due To His Past Racist Comments
Comedian and social commentator D.L. Hughley is known for speaking truth without flinching and his remarks on Hulk Hogan’s recent death are no exception.
“So Hogan passed recently and of course… he has run his race,” Hughley began in a candid commentary. “So nothing that we can say, we in the land of the living, can say can hurt him anymore — but it certainly can hurt his family.”
Hughley acknowledged the sensitivity around Hogan’s legacy, particularly the racist comments Hogan made that resurfaced in 2015. While some members of the wrestler’s family reportedly want the public to let go of the past, not everyone agrees — including one of his daughters.
“She doesn’t want any money from him,” Hughley said. “She doesn’t want to have anything to do with fighting for the estate. And they didn’t speak. Do you know how horrible you got to be to have someone that loves you… not forgive you in death?”
According to Hughley, Hogan’s daughter was deeply hurt by racially charged remarks the wrestling icon allegedly made about her dating a Black man — remarks she now reportedly labels as “racist.”
“All of us are remembered by not only the good we did but the bad,” Hughley continued. “And what you hope is that you’ve done enough good that it counteracts the other.”
To illustrate his point, Hughley drew comparisons to the deaths of public figures like John Lennon, Michael Jackson, and Kobe Bryant, pointing out how public memory is often shaped by “the last thing that happened.”
“You can rest in peace to some,” Hughley concluded, “but not to all.”
