Florida influencer Beverly Yvonne Slaughter has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that left one person dead and three others injured.
According to reports, the 25-year-old was behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger when she allegedly ran a red light at high speed around 1 a.m. on April 29 in Fort Lauderdale. Her vehicle collided with a Nissan Altima carrying four passengers. Surveillance footage from a nearby McDonald’s reportedly captured the entire incident.
Police say Slaughter got out of the car and fled the scene on foot. When officers caught up with her, she allegedly told them that her boyfriend told her to run. One of the victims was taken off life support days later.
Slaughter was arrested on Tuesday (July 29) and is now facing 14 felony charges, including vehicular homicide, fleeing the scene of an accident with serious injury, and driving with a revoked license.
