Sarah Jessica Parker Bids Emotional Farewell To Iconic Carrie Bradshaw Role After 27 Years As ‘And Just Like That’ Comes To An End + Co-Star Cynthia Nixon Also Speaks Out
Sarah Jessica Parker is saying goodbye to her most iconic role.
After showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed “And Just Like That” will end with season 3, Parker reflected on her 27-year journey as Carrie Bradshaw in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“She broke hearts, heels, habits. She loved, lost, won, tripped, leaped, fell short, and into puddles,” Parker narrated a video of Carrie’s iconic looks. “She has made the hardest, worst, and best decisions.”
“She hailed cabs. She ran in heels. And danced with Stanford,” Parker also wrote in the caption, paying tribute to late co-star Willie Garson.
She also praised her co-stars, writing, “Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte, there will never be better friends,” and welcomed new characters Seema and LTW as “divine new connections.”
“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all,” Parker added.
Actress Cynthia Nixon shared several photos on her Instagram of her co-stars throughout the years.
“It has been such a delight from start to finish,” she wrote.
King revealed the decision came while writing the season 3 finale, saying, “It became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop.”
He and Parker delayed announcing it to avoid overshadowing the final season.
The two-part series finale airs August 14 on Max.
