Lizzo’s Ex-Assistant Demands Court Trial, Alleging $exual Jokes, Explicit Candy & Racial Harassment During Tour
Lizzo is facing renewed legal pressure from her former assistant, Asha Daniels, who is pushing to have her hostile work environment lawsuit heard in court.
Daniels has filed a motion asking a judge to deny the singer’s request for summary judgment against the claims involving her touring company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc.
Daniels alleges the tour environment featured “p*nis-shaped candy,” frequent s*xual jokes, and images of male genitalia displayed in shared areas. She also accuses her supervisor, Amanda Nomura, of racial harassment, claiming she reported the conduct but no corrective action was taken.
According to Daniels, one manager told her, “It just wasn’t working out,” when she was terminated, while another asserted that she had resigned.
Lizzo’s legal team has rejected the accusations. “Daniels is not a victim of discrimination or harassment,” attorney Marty Singer stated. “She’s a disgruntled former employee with an inflated ego, personal vendettas … and an unquenchable thirst for free publicity.”
Singer added that Daniels failed to follow safety protocols and offered no evidence to support what he described as “absurd allegations.”
