MSNBC Will Soon Rebrand As MS NOW Following Split From NBCUniversal
MSNBC is getting a new name.
The network will soon be called My Source for News Opinion and the World, or MSNOW, following the spin-off of NBCUniversal’s cable assets into a new publicly traded company called Versant.
As for the network’s look, Mark Lazarus, the CEO of Versant, explained in a memo to staffers that NBCU decided to keep its Peacock branding, meaning MS NOW will have a new logo.

Anchor Rachel Maddow expressed support for the change, saying, “If there was ever a time for us to change our name, this is it, because we’re not just separating from NBC News in corporate terms, we’re competing with them now. So I think the distinction is going to be good for us.”
