The broadcasting giant is still refusing to air Jimmy Kimmel Live! across its ABC affiliates, even after the Walt Disney Company officially lifted the show’s suspension. As reported, Jimmy is set to return tonight (Sept. 23).
In a statement, #Sinclair confirmed, “Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”
The company, which happens to be the largest owner of ABC stations, with 38 across the country, previously laid out strict conditions for the late-night host’s return. Reportedly, Sinclair demanded that Kimmel issue an apology to right-wing commentator #CharlieKirk and make “a meaningful personal donation” to both the family and Turning Point USA.
With negotiations ongoing, Kimmel’s fate on Sinclair-owned stations is still up in the air.
