The music exec returned to federal court in New York today (Sept. 25), seeking to overturn his two convictions for transportation related to pro$titution. While acquitted of more serious racketeering and s3x trafficking charges, #Diddy was convicted in July of facilitating “freak-offs” involving male escorts and his former partners, Casandra “#Cassie” Ventura and a woman referred to as “Jane.” Defense attorneys argue that Diddy’s intent was voyeuristic, not for profit, and that the escorts participated voluntarily in private recordings. They contend that Diddy is the first person convicted under this statute for such conduct, asserting that the activities were akin to producing amateur pornography for personal viewing.
Prosecutors counter that Diddy orchestrated and profited from these encounters, directing s3xual activities and transporting individuals across state lines. They argue that his actions fall outside the protection of the First Amendment. Sentencing is scheduled for October 3, with Diddy’s legal team requesting a sentence of no more than 14 months, which would effectively account for time already served.
