“RHOA” Star Kelli Ferrell Sued For Over $18,000 After Failing To Pay Former Restaurant Employee, Who Says Ordeal Took An ‘Emotional Toll’ On Their Mental Health

$2,000 in unpaid wages could end up costing #KelliFerrell more than $18,000.

According to Us Weekly, #RHOA star Kelli Ferrell is facing a lawsuit from a former employee of her restaurant, Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles. The employee, Saniyah Casey, alleges Ferrell failed to pay her more than $2,000 in wages and back pay for work she performed between early July and mid-August. The suit accuses Kelli of “wage theft, breach of contract, and emotional distress,” with Casey adding that “the emotional toll this has taken on my mental health” has been severe. In total, including legal fees, Casey is seeking $18,788.52.

Kelli’s team responded by framing the dispute as a simple payroll error and asserted that payment was offered but declined by the employee. In a statement, they said, “Due to a routine administrative error that can occasionally occur when launching a new business, Ms. Casey’s payment was delayed by two weeks. Rather than accepting a certified check that was promptly offered to resolve the matter, she instead chose to pursue a civil suit — one that significantly exaggerates the damages she claims to have suffered during her brief one-month tenure at Nana’s Chicken & Waffles.”

What’s your take: justified lawsuit or money grab?
