Tyler Perry Addresses A$$ault & Harassment Claims From Actor Derek Dixon, Says He ‘Needs Help’ & Is Exploiting Their ‘Friendship & Professional Relationship’
#TylerPerry continues to deny the serious a$$ault claims from former #TheOval actor #DerekDixon.
Earlier this month, the media tycoon filed court documents alleging that Dixon’s $260 million s3xual a$$ault lawsuit is “profoundly disappointing, cynical, and—most of all—false.” Perry’s legal team argues that Dixon has “invent[ed] alleged assaults and encounters that never happened” and claims the lawsuit is rooted in “greed and avarice, not … nonexistent harassment or abuse.”
They assert that Dixon is exploiting his “friendship and professional relationship with Mr. Perry” to obtain a big “payday.” Perry’s attorneys also contend that Dixon brought the case in the wrong jurisdiction. While Dixon filed the lawsuit in #California, Perry’s attorneys argue it belongs in #Georgia, where the production took place. The case, which originated in Los Angeles County Superior Court, was previously transferred to a federal court in California.
The court filing adds, “By his actions and false accusations, it is clear that Dixon needs help. But he cannot find it in this Court.” As reported, Dixon accuses Perry of continuing to make s3xual advances toward him during his time working on the billionaire’s TV series. His lawsuit recounts moments of alleged s3xual a$$ault from Perry and fear of losing his job for turning his boss down multiple times.
