‘Supacell’ Star Rapper Ghetts Dropped From Season 2 After Admitting to K*lling Man in Car Crash

British rapper and actor Ghetts will not appear in the second season of Netflix’s hit drama Supacell after admitting to k#lling a man in a car crash. The 41-year-old performer, who appeared in Season 1 of the series, “will play no further role in the drama,” according to Deadline. The outlet notes that his casting for Season 2 had not been previously confirmed, but he is now understood to be out of the show going forward.

Ghetts, whose real name is Justin Jude Clarke-Samuel, played the character Krazy in the first season of Supacell. The Netflix series follows a group of ordinary people from South London who suddenly develop superpowers, and it was renewed for a second season after its successful debut. Production on Season 2 is currently underway in the United Kingdom.

The decision about his future with the show comes after Clarke-Samuel admitted in court to causing the d#ath of a man in a hit-and-run incident. He pleaded guilty to causing d*ath by dangerous driving following a crash in Ilford, east London, in which a 20-year-old pedestrian was struck on 18 October and later di•d from his injuries. He also admitted failing to stop at the scene.

Court documents cited by UK media state that Clarke-Samuel has been held in custody since late October, when he first appeared before magistrates and was immediately disqualified from driving. A judge at London’s Old Bailey has indicated that he faces an “inevitably lengthy” prison sentence, with a formal sentencing hearing scheduled for 12 February. Charges against him include dangerous driving before and after the collision, and an additional allegation of causing death by careless driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

Ghetts rose to prominence in the UK grime scene in the early 2000s and has since built a successful recording career, collaborating with artists such as Stormzy and Ed Sheeran and collecting multiple awards. His role in Supacell marked one of his most high-profile acting projects to date. Netflix has not issued a detailed public statement on his removal beyond the report that he will no longer be part of the series.
