Patriots Player Christian Barmore Charged w/ Domestic A$$ault, As Teammate Stefon Diggs Is Hit w/ Charges For Allegedly Choking Chef
The New England Patriots PR team is working overtime this holiday season.
#Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore has been charged with misdemeanor domestic a$$ault and battery following an alleged incident that took place on Aug. 8 at his home in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
According to a criminal complaint filed Dec.16, Christian is accused of throwing his then girlfriend to the ground during an argument over the air conditioner temperature and food. Allegedly, he also grabbed her shirt near her neck and disconnected her phone as she tried to seek help. The woman later fled the home with her daughter and eventually pressed charges, saying she feared the NFL player and was seven weeks pregnant at the time. Christian is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 3.
The charges came to light just one day after news broke that Christian’s teammate, wide receiver #StefonDiggs, is also facing a$$ault allegations. Stefon is accused of choking and slapping his former female chef during a dispute over unpaid wages, allegations he has denied. He has been charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor a$$ault and battery
A spokesperson for the Patriots said, “Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon … and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the #NFL as necessary.” Both teammates are being represented by the same attorney. In a press conference today (Dec. 31), Patriots head coach #MikeVrabel addressed the allegations against Stefon and Christian, expressing that he’s “disappointed.” However, he did not indicate whether the charges will keep them off the field.
