Kirk Franklin Pitches ‘Gospel Avengers’ Super Bowl Halftime Show, Admits He’s Too Scared To Headline Alone
Would you be here for a Gospel-led #SuperBowl halftime show?
When a fan asked if he’d consider taking center stage at the NFL championship, #KirkFranklin admitted he wouldn’t want to go it alone. “Not by myself, I’d be too scared to be it by myself,” he confessed with a laugh. He suggested that to headline, he’d want to assemble a “Gospel Avengers” lineup, a concept reminiscent of Dr. Dre’s 2022 halftime show.
If you recall, the rapper and producer delivered an unforgettable performance at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, featuring Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, with surprise appearances by #50Cent and Anderson .Paak. Kirk, who expressed gratitude for fans eager to see him on the big stage, left it up to them to help decide who should join his “Gospel Avengers” squad.
