Brandy Reveals She’s Distancing Herself From Brother Ray J Over Behavior She ‘Doesn’t Condone’ + To Love Him ‘From Afar’
Tension within her family is now part of Brandy’s public narrative, as she addressed her current relationship with her brother Ray J in a candid new interview.
Opening up about where things stand, Brandy made it clear there’s currently space between them.
“There is distance right now,” she said. “There are a few things that he’s been doing in the public eye that I don’t condone, and I just feel like loving him from afar right now is best for me and my peace.”
While she didn’t go into specifics about the behavior causing the strain, her comments suggest a disconnect tied to Ray J’s recent public actions. Still, the singer emphasized that the separation doesn’t mean a lack of love.
“But my life with Ray and my connection with him is all throughout the book, and my love for him never wavers,” she added.
Brandy’s remarks arrive as she promotes her new memoir, where she reflects on her upbringing, career, and personal relationships — including her bond with her younger brother.
Though the two have long been seen as a close-knit sibling duo in the entertainment industry, Brandy’s latest comments reveal a more complicated present-day dynamic, with distance playing a role as she prioritizes her peace.
Do you think the siblings will resolve their issues?
