D4vd & His Mom Hit With Wrongful De@th Lawsuit From Family Of Celeste Rivas, 14-Year-Old Girl Singer’s Accused Of Brutally M*rdering To Keep Their Alleged Relationship A Secret

Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s family is filing a wrongful de@th lawsuit against singer D4vd, landing exactly one year after Celeste’s dismembered remains were found in the trunk of his Tesla on Sept. 8, 2025.

D4vd — real name David Anthony Burke — already faces criminal charges of m*rdering the 14-year-old, along with lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and mutil@ting a body. He’s pleaded not guilty. The suit isn’t limited to D4vd alone — the family is also suing his manager, Josh Marshall; his mother, Colleen Burke; and his live-in security guard, Sheldon Jacques.

According to TMZ, the suit alleges #D4vd arranged in early 2024 to have Celeste transported to and from his home during a stretch when she repeatedly left her family’s house, and that he enlisted Jacques to help remove her from her home and bring her to his #HollywoodHills residence. It also names Mogul Vision, the company the family says leased D4vd’s L.A. home and helped arrange Jacques’ role as his security guard, alleging everyone around him knew or should have known about his alleged s3xual exploitation of Celeste and failed to intervene. In total, there are 12 causes of action — nine against D4vd himself, the rest aimed at his mother, security guard and business managers.

The filing comes amid an ongoing dispute over D4vd’s finances: family attorney Patrick Steinfeld has disputed his claims of being broke, and it’s been reported that his father sold a Houston home for $229,000 in July, while D4vd transferred two Texas properties to his mother back in October 2025. It also follows #CelesteRivas’ family’s statement days earlier that they’d support the de@th penalty if D4vd is convicted, calling him a person “without conscience.” A judge ordered D4vd to stand trial in July after a five-day preliminary hearing, and prosecutors have said capital punishment remains on the table.
