Lizzo Says Fans Are Now Unaware Their Favorite Artists Are Dropping New Music, Blames The Algorithm For ‘Destroying The Music Industry & Music Marketing
Is the algorithm keeping you from knowing when your favorite artist drops new music?
According to Grammy winner #Lizzo, that may very well be the case. In a TikTok video, she broke down how the algorithm is “destroying” both music marketing and the wider music industry. Lizzo explained that over the past five years, things have shifted significantly, making it harder for fans to even know when an artist has released something new.
“Ever since the algorithm has been showing us things out of order, baby, there’s no way to successfully promote your album where everyone knows your album is coming,” Lizzo said. She went on to note that even loyal supporters can miss a single or album release because the rollout simply is “not hitting their algorithm.”
