Queen Latifah Hints At Releasing New Music This Year-Says Fans Should Expect ‘A Mixture’ Of Rap, Jazz & Soul
Queen Latifah is giving fans hope that new music could finally be on the way.
During a recent conversation with Variety, the multi-talented star opened up about the songs she has been keeping private and suggested that 2026 may be the year she finally releases them.
“I am going to try and drop something this year,” Queen Latifah shared. “I guess I have to, at least start letting some of this music out that I’ve been holding on my computer for so long.”
Latifah explained that the unreleased tracks have been in her personal rotation for so long, they almost feel public already.
“I play it so much that I feel like it’s already out. I think I will actually share it with the people this year,” she said.
The Grammy winner also made it clear that her sound remains one of one.
“There’s nothing that really sounds like me or is my style that is out there. There’s bits and pieces here and there, but there’s only one me, so I think I need to put some of this music out.”
When asked whether the project would include hip-hop, jazz, or soul, Latifah kept it simple: “It’ll be a mixture.”
