Should’ve Done More Broadway Shows Before Hitting The Tony Awards
Megan Thee Stallion’s surprise Tony Awards moment is getting mixed reviews, and Charlamagne tha God is making it clear where he stands.
During the Monday, June 8, episode of “The Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne questioned why Megan was included in the 2026 Tony Awards after her brief run in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical.” The rapper made her Broadway debut earlier this year as Zidler, but exited the production on May 1, ahead of her originally scheduled final performance on May 17.
After co-host Loren LoRosa brought up online criticism over Megan’s appearance, Charlamagne compared the situation to sports eligibility rules.
“I agree because NBA players got to play a certain amount of games in order to get certain awards,” Charlamagne said. “She should have had to be in a certain amount of plays to be at the Tony Awards.”
Megan performed during the show’s opening number and later presented an award.
