Ex-NBA Star Dwight Howard Accused Of Making Divorce From Amy Luciani More Expensive As She Demands He Cover Her $9,400 Lawyer Fees

Dwight Howard’s divorce from Amy Luciani is heating up as both sides continue battling over money, legal fees, and private financial records.

Luciani, 36, whose real name is Amber Rose Howard, claims the retired NBA star is dragging out their split after only six months of marriage. In a July 6 court filing, she accused Howard, 40, of filing a protective order earlier this year to allegedly “harass and humiliate” her following their separation.

Luciani argued the motion was filed “for the mere purpose of annoying, harassing and causing unnecessary delay in the matter.” She also claimed Howard’s actions forced her to “incur additional attorney’s fees and expenses of litigation,” despite knowing their “income disparity.”

She further alleged Howard refused to “comply” with discovery requests, initially declining to turn over “personal and business bank statements, credit card statements and the like” “under any circumstance.”

However, both sides have since “consented to entry of a confidentiality order,” allowing Howard’s “confidential information” to be shared under seal.

Luciani is now asking Howard to “pay the reasonable expenses and attorney’s fees” tied to the dispute. Her attorney stated, “I have spent a total of 27.5 hours on this divorce matter, and my client was charged a total of $9,454.05.”
