Tracy Morgan’s Comedy ‘Crutch’ Gets The Axe As Paramount+ Pulls Back On Sitcoms

Tracy Morgan’s Paramount+ comedy run has come to an end, with “Crutch” officially finished after just one season.

The eight episode sitcom, filmed before a live audience in fall 2024, premiered November 3, 2025. Cast options expired at the end of last year, effectively closing the door on a second season.

The cancellation follows Paramount’s post Skydance programming shift. Cindy Holland, who oversees Paramount+, previously said multi camera comedies would not be a priority because CBS is “fantastic” in the genre and already makes its sitcoms available on the streamer the next day.

“Crutch” was the platform’s final original comedy, and Paramount+ has not announced any new comedy orders.

Morgan had already moved forward with NBC’s “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. By its May 2026 renewal, that series had Morgan in first position after his “Crutch” option expired.

Created by Owen Smith and executive produced by Cedric the Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone, “Crutch” followed Harlem shop owner Francois “Frank” Crutchfield, known as “Crutch,” whose life changes when his children return home. The series earned a 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.
