Drake Opens Second HISTORY Live Music & Entertainment Venue In Ottawa, Canada

Drake is expanding his footprint in the live entertainment business with the opening of a second HISTORY live music and entertainment venue, this time in Ottawa, Canada.

The Toronto rapper announced the new location while sharing a first look inside the sleek space, which features a performance stage, lounge areas and futuristic lighting. The expansion comes through Drake’s continued partnership with Live Nation, following the opening of the original HISTORY venue in Toronto in 2021.

“Today we open the second History,” Drake wrote. He described the new location as “a venue for outstanding artists and the incredible fan bases that seek that communal family experience.” Thanking Live Nation for continuing to trust his vision, he added, “These venues are where our stories are born, elevated, shared, and hopefully revisited.” Drake also revealed that he plans to visit the Ottawa venue soon to “drop off my personal touch.”

Drake said part of his goal with HISTORY is to improve the experience for artists performing in live venues. Reflecting on performers who have entered spaces and wondered, “Is this what making it feels like,” he explained that while he respects the history and heritage of longstanding venues, he hopes HISTORY can “create a better experience for our budding artists moving forward.”

The new Ottawa location marks the second HISTORY venue and expands the concept beyond Toronto. Ottawa is the capital of Canada and is located in the province of Ontario, roughly 280 miles northeast of Toronto.
