[Update] Ariana Grande Gets Court Approval To Hunt Down Hackers Accused Of Leaking Her Unreleased Music

Ariana Grande is moving one step closer to uncovering who allegedly hacked and leaked her unreleased music and behind-the-scenes footage.

A Los Angeles judge has granted the singer permission to issue expedited subpoenas aimed at identifying the anonymous individuals accused of stealing and distributing her private creative material. Judge Mark H. Epstein agreed there was no reason to follow the usual waiting period because the defendants remain unknown.

“Given that there is no one to whom notice can be given anyway, it makes little sense to wait the 16 days,” Epstein wrote. “And on the merits of the motion, good cause is shown.”

Grande’s attorneys argued that delays could allow the alleged “hacking, theft, dissemination, sales, and publication” to continue while important account and login data disappears.

The pop star filed her lawsuit July 27 against unnamed John Does, accusing them of phishing and hacking schemes involving people who worked closely with her. The complaint describes “unlawful and egregious theft, dissemination, and exploitation of unreleased content” allegedly sold for “significant sums of money.”

Grande claims hundreds of leaks have occurred over 15 years, including 45 unreleased songs in 2023 alone.
