‘Basketball Wives’ Alum CeCe Gutierrez’s Group Photo Sparks Heated Debate Over Black Men Dating Outside Their Race

A seemingly innocent group photo from a charity event has unexpectedly sparked a heated conversation online about interracial relationships.

Basketball Wives” alum CeCe Gutierrez recently shared photos from the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation event, writing, “Another Year at The Harold & Carole Pump Foundation! A great cause and such a great time with good friends!” However, instead of focusing on the event, social media users quickly turned their attention to the couples pictured — particularly the Black men standing alongside their white partners.

The comments became flooded with reactions debating Black men dating and marrying outside their race. One person wrote, “Lord please protect the black women,” while another declared, “Black Queens forever!!!” Someone else questioned, “If they had no money or fame, would you be with them? Asking for a friend…” Another highly-liked response simply read, “Once again, Katt Williams was right.” Several users even claimed the photo made them unfollow Gutierrez.

Still, not everyone agreed with the criticism. One commenter defended the couples, writing, “I know what this post is trying to say but I see happiness, otherwise they wouldn’t be there.” Others questioned why the race of anyone’s partner should matter at all.

What started as a celebratory photo from a charitable gathering has now turned into a much larger — and controversial — discussion about race, relationships and whether successful Black men face added scrutiny over who they choose to date or marry.

What do y’all think about the reactions?
