Colin Kaepernick Says Jay-Z Has A ‘Guilty Conscience’ Over NFL Deal: You’re Serving The Culture Up To A Bunch of R*cists’

Colin Kaepernick is firing back at Jay-Z, suggesting the rapper’s continued references to him reveal discomfort over his partnership with the NFL.

During an interview with NBC News, Kaepernick addressed Jay-Z’s July freestyle, where the rapper referenced the former quarterback’s NFL settlement while defending his own controversial business moves.

Buddy took a check, I ain’t even mad at him, but along with that check you have to sign a non-disparagement. I’m the one [the NFL] can’t control,” Jay-Z rapped.

Kaepernick denied signing a non-disparagement agreement and said the criticism reflects something deeper.

And to me, I view that as speaking to a guilty conscience and trying to reposition or reframe the conversation,” he said.

Their relationship soured after Roc Nation partnered with the NFL in 2019. Kaepernick recalled warning Jay-Z, “You’re serving the culture up to a bunch of r*cists.”

He also accused Jay-Z of attempting “reputational recovery.”

I understand why he’s trying to do reputational recovery. I get it,” Kaepernick said, adding that his own “actions and the work that I do will speak for themselves.”
