MAGA Festival Headlined By Kid Rock Canceled Days Before Event After Just Six VIP Tickets Sold

A Kentucky political festival featuring Kid Rock has been called off just days before showtime after its organizer revealed VIP ticket sales fell dramatically short of expectations.

Freedom Fest was scheduled for September 26 at a farm in Morning View, Kentucky, with Kid Rock among the headline attractions. Organizer Eric Deters announced the cancellation September 21, saying only six VIP tickets had been purchased.

The VIP passes reportedly cost $1,000 each, while general admission and parking were expected to be free. Deters had reportedly hoped to sell roughly 100 VIP tickets to help cover the event’s expenses.

Deters disputed suggestions that the cancellation reflected a broader lack of support, saying, “MAGA supporters always support this event, always turn out.”

He also made clear Kid Rock was not responsible.

“That cancellation had absolutely nothing to do with Kid Rock. Kid Rock’s a good dude. I’m tickled to death he agreed to come.”

Other planned guests included Republican Rep. James Comer and Kentucky congressional candidate Ed Gallrein.

Deters said he was finished organizing the festival, declaring, “I am never ever, ever, ever, ever doing this event again.”

Ultimately, he described the cancellation as financial.

“I cancelled the event. It saved me from picking up a pretty goddamn large tab that I was going to pick up, that I didn’t want to frickin’ pick up,” Deters said. “It’s a business call! Plain and simple.”
