Spike Lee Restrained During Heated Confrontation At Yankee Stadium After Fan Allegedly Asked Him To Say ‘F* Palestine’

Filmmaker Spike Lee was involved in a heated confrontation at Yankee Stadium after a fan allegedly approached him with comments about Palestine.

The incident happened Wednesday (Sept. 30) in the Legends Suite dining area ahead of the New York Yankees’ playoff matchup against the Boston Red Sox. According to reports, Lee had been taking photos with fans before an individual allegedly began filming him while he was eating and questioned him about Palestine. Another person who approached Lee for a selfie allegedly asked the Oscar-winning director to say, “F**k Palestine.”

Video circulating online shows an upset Lee being restrained as the situation escalates. At one point, he can be heard asking, “Why’d you come over to me?” Another man in the area is seen pointing toward someone and repeatedly telling them they had to leave. The individual involved was reportedly removed from the area.

The encounter comes months after Lee drew attention at the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend for wearing clothing featuring keffiyeh-inspired elements and carrying a bag with a Palestinian flag strap. Lee later clarified that the look was “not intended as a gesture of hostility to Jewish people” or a statement regarding Israeli NBA All-Star Deni Avdija.

Neither Lee nor the Yankees had publicly commented on the Yankee Stadium incident as of the initial reports.
