Here For It? LeBron James’ Son Bronny Could Be Leaving The Lakers After His Father’s Exit— Multiple Teams Reportedly Interested

Bronny James could be headed for a trade, with multiple NBA teams reportedly showing interest in the Lakers guard as Los Angeles faces roster decisions before opening night.

According to Yahoo Sports, an unnamed league executive credited Bronny’s development and approach for attracting attention.

“There’s definitely interest there,” the executive said. “He’s gotten much better in a short period. He knows his role, and it’s hard to find young guys who just want to excel in their role.”

No interested teams have been named, and there is no indication the Lakers are actively shopping him. Los Angeles reportedly needs to clear one guaranteed contract, with Dalton Knecht and Jaden Hardy also mentioned as potential trade candidates.

Selected No. 55 in the 2024 NBA Draft, Bronny improved his shooting during his second season. He averaged 2.9 points and 1.2 assists across 42 games, shooting 40.9 percent overall and 38.6 percent from three.

Now entering his third season, he is working on becoming more disruptive defensively.

“I think just building on defensive instinct, how I was in the playoffs, picking up full court, taking up the ball forward, [the coaching staff] have been emphasizing that,” he said following a recent practice.

Bronny said he has guarded Luka Doni and Austin Reaves full court while gaining “confidence” through ballhandling opportunities.

The speculation follows LeBron James’ reported departure for Philadelphia. However, agent Rich Paul previously rejected suggestions that Bronny would automatically follow his father, saying there was no request or plan to send him there.
