“Love & Hip Hop” Star Yandy Smith Explains Why Legal Marriage Is Off The Table For Her, But She’s Still Open To Love & Commitment: ‘I Just Do Not Want To Be In Business With This Government

When it comes to marriage, #YandySmith has no plans to make things legally binding!

During an appearance on the “Social Proof” podcast, the reality star and entrepreneur opened up about her love life and explained why legal marriage just isn’t in the cards for her. If you’ve watched Yandy on “Love & Hip Hop,” you likely remember the drama around her relationship with Mendeecees Harris, especially when the cast learned the couple never officially signed the paperwork following their lavish, televised wedding.

However, Yandy made it clear that a marriage certificate doesn’t define the relationship she’s built with #Mendeecees over the years. “That’s my husband; I got children with this man. I went home to this man every day [and] he came home to me every day. That’s my husband,” she said. Yandy also explained that despite never legally tying the knot, she and Mendeecees have other arrangements in place to protect themselves and their family. Still, she acknowledged that what works for her relationship may not work for everyone else, and that’s perfectly fine.
