Thankfully, all is well with Usher and Tameka Raymond’s five-year-old son, Usher V. This week, he was admitted to the ICU at an Atlanta hospital following a pool incident at Usher’s home. On Thursday, Usher released the following statement, via a representative:

I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being. I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the

doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock. I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son’s life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them.

Tameka Raymond shared the following message:

Cabin fever.. But I’m so happy to say that my son is doing much better. Talking & asking for food. Thank you for ur well wishes & prayers. ….And no I haven’t gone anywhere or done anything. #Relax

Tension between both parents is still evident. On Wednesday, a judge scheduled an emergency custody hearing requested by Tameka, because of the incident. Tameka’s lawyer filed the request in Fulton County Superior Court on Tuesday and Judge John J. Goger approved it the same day, scheduling a hearing for Friday. The court filing says the boy

suffered a near-death accident

while left unsupervised in a pool at the Grammy winner’s home on Monday. Tameka Raymond is seeking temporary primary custody of the former couple’s two children, as well as temporary final decision-making authority regarding their education, health care, religion and extracurricular activities.

I can’t stand Tameka she needs to sit down. The statement she made about the well being of her children and things do happen, but to even think she’s the better parent not trying to hurt her feelings but accidents do happen. Look at how tragic it was when her son was hit by a jet ski, that was very tragic but he was in his mothers care. It just goes to show that things happen no matter where these children are at anything can happen. Tameka is just a cash cow. I hope the judge does not give those kids to her.

You are so right Kia! Accidents will happen and the accident that happened when her child lost his life she wasnt even with him she was away in another country vacationing. She left him with a family friend. So what is the difference Usher left his son with his Aunt & a nanny. I just dont understand Tameka…girl let it go.

Tameka s son Kyle was actually with his father when the water accident happened. She has every right to fight for the well being of her children. You are right accidents happen. Why should her children be in another s care when they can be in the care of their mother

This is my first time making a comment but I felt the need to respond after reading some of the comments. This woman just lost one son and to be that close to almost losing another has to be devasting. I would want my son as close to me as possible regardless of who and how much power his father has. Some of you need to get off of Usher d***k and put yourself in her shoes.

well said TJ…..For Those that thinks the mom shouldn’t fight her children, walk a mile in her shoes first before judging her. She has lost one child and almost lost another. No amount of money can replace your children. Anyway who leaves a child unattended in a pool. Accidents do happen but as parents we should try to protect our children. I feel them both as parents. My drowned two years ago and was expected not to live. I praise God for her everyday because she has beaten the odds. We took every precaution to make sure something like wouldn’t happen as parents. Including setting alarms. Because the alarm failed we didn’t know she walked out. Until this day we still blame ourselves as her parents. So we still take responsibility for it. We have to protect our children, especially as mother’s. a father will never know what it feel like to carry a child or give birth. Financially I don’t sit where Usher is but we do dang good. When we were in the hospital with her we would have given it all up just to have our baby back, and God heard our cry and answered our prayer. Don’t judge the love this woman has for child based upon money but based upon love and lost. It could be you one day, what will you do, how will you be judged.

Tameka is very bitter and full of vengeance. She needs to find peace within herself. Kids are smart and can feel the tension between the two of them regardless of how they may try to shield them from it. Instead of totally focusing on her son , she runs to the court to file for temporary custody. Seriously???? WOW!!!

What Kinda mother would she be if she didn’t at least try to get her sons??? Folks would be talking shit about if she didn’t.

I think Tameka’s reaction was one that any mother would have but the question is, was it for the right reasons? I feel two fold about it because as a Mom, I feel compassion knowing that she just lost one son, naturally she’d be freaking out about this one. But I also feel that it could’ve been based on “Now I can get Usher’s ass back” type of thing too. Just like most people, I feel that she is still bitter and carries a vengence for Usher no matter what. But thank God that baby is ok! I hope Usher puts a fence w/lock or something around that pool though.

@ vapariga…exactly well said. That is the how I view it. What was your reason? Was it for the right reason or was this your time to get him back? Yes every mother should fight for they children but I just don’t think that Tameka intentions on this is good. This is my opinion and I am allowed to have one. I just see her as doing it for vengence.
