[VIDEO] Karrine Steffans Gives Tips For Keeping A Man: Be Subservient, Show Humility & Shut Up
Karrine Steffans shares quite a fem gems in her latest interview with 106 KMEL. The former video vixen, who has been quite vocal about her relationship/friendship with Lil Wayne, shared some relationship advice for women interested in keeping their man. And surprisingly (or perhaps not) her main pointers focused on women maintaining a submissive role. Giving specific tips, she said:
Subservience, humility and shut-up. Shut your mouth. You talk too much. You say too much, you do too much. Be quiet. Just be quiet just say ‘yes’ to everything. Why not? Why can’t you just say, ‘okay.’
When asked by the radio personality about being ‘opinionated’, she responded:
It’s not about what you can do…I can do a lot of things; doesn’t mean I should all the time…Pick you pockets and allow a man to be a man. Let them be the head, not the tale. They run it…Let them do what they do.
Karrine practices her own relationship advice.
I just want everyone to just do what makes them happy. I like to say a lot of ‘yes’; a lot of humility. A lot of, ‘do you need anything?’, ‘Can I help you with anything?’ A lot of fetching…’do you need something?’…let me get that for you…a lot of coddling…a lot of subservience.
And while she’s been married twice, she’s open to the idea of marrying again.
I’m not opposed to it. If I did it again, it would be really real and it would be the last…and it would be with someone who was completely different…someone who appreciates my acumen…someone who is creative and who works with me to create…and is not jealous of my creativity, who is not in competition with me…I’ve always been stronger…and I’ve always taken care of the man in my life…I’ve always been the stronger, just the smartest person in the room…
Karrine also gave some insight on her Caribbean background and why she doesn’t consider herself African American. In the context of how she raises her 15-year-old son, she shares that because she doesn’t have slaves in her lineage (she was raised in Saint Thomas), she doesn’t have the same mentality and raises her son differently.
And I think people forget, I’m an islander. I’m not African American. I don’t have like African American struggles. I just don’t. I don’t have the same history. So, and I’m not even tryna be facetious…There’s a serious mind state that comes with being black in America. And being a black American. And the history that comes with that. And all things that are passed down from generation to generation…Shame. Shame sexually. Sexually shaming. Shame on the female gender. Shame just all kinds of shame. And abuse. And belittling and all those things that come from post-slavery.
She continued:
I don’t have slavery in my family so and a lot of islanders don’t, so our mind state is different. We see things different and we’re not ashamed of our bodies. We have Carnival for Christ’s sake….That’s how we live our lives. We go to the beach; we swim naked. It’s just different. Island girls just do it better and that’s just a fact.
Interesting perspective. Watch the full interview below.

How bout she just needs to shut up!
No slavery in her lineage because her family is from Saint Thomas? Is she serious? I’m going to need for her to drive to her local college or university, park, enroll in the first section of whatever African Diaspora history course is being offered this coming semester, and have ALLLLL of the seats in the first row of the lecture hall. smdh
Ermmm is Karine unaware of how Africans also were dropped off all over the Carribean, South America and North America?? If she’s going to play the intellect, the least she can so is read up on her history, idiot!!
She is such an illiterate person.Whites came through the islands and made them slaves too.So can she intelligently explain why she screwed all those men out of that “nasty” mouth of hers.Nothing but garbage goes in that mouth and nothing but trash comes out of it.
now I understand she soul only suceed by giving head!
now I understand she could only suceed by giving head!
Yes, I want my little girl to be like Super head…I want for her to work hard and grow up to be rappers whores and she’ll be a real success story… *sarcasm *
You know what, let Karrine separate themselves from us because she’s nothing to brag about. Its funny how she feel a need to down African Americans but brag about being a ho. Who does that?
I just love how she said AAs have struggles just make her so exceptional. What make this broad think that we live unhappy lives? She struggled. For her information, struggles doesn’t belong to a race of people. Everyday, someone is struggling with something: their finances, children, their personal lives. Far as African American slaves of course they struggled to be free, happy and to maintain their families. I guess she thinks that Caribbean slaves were just singing kumbaya and having the times of their lives in bondage.
Someone suggested that she should ancestry.com and I hope that she takes that challenge. I promise you that she’ll be surprised to learn the truth about her “precious”self.
…says the woman with no ring on her finger. Girl, bye.
All of this after being a HO (major HO), dogged, used & abused. I guess she thinks she’s got it all figured out now, she’s a pro on life and how it “should be” done. Yeah, I agree w/Love – girl, bye. Oh, and do your research since you’re the smartest in the room! What a joke. ha, ha.
