[VIDEO] Donald Sterling Slams Magic Johnson’s HIV Status: ‘He’s got AIDS!’ + Watch the FULL Interview
Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling repeatedly disparaged Magic Johnson’s HIV-positive status in his first public interview since his highly publicized controversy. The full interview, with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, aired Monday, where he told viewers that Magic was not a fit role model for children and dismissing his work in business and charity.
As previously reported, last month, his racist recordings emerged earned him a lifetime NBA ban, but some feel Sterling was anything but apologetic during the interview, making not-so-nice comments about Magic.
He’s got AIDS! What has he done, big Magic Johnson, what has he done?
He said:
He acts so holy. He made love to every girl in every city in America, and he had AIDS, and when he had those AIDS, I went to my synagogue and I prayed for him, I hope he could live and be well. I didn’t criticize him. I could have. Is he an example for children?
He continued:
What kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches HIV. Is that someone we want to respect, and tell our kids about? I think he should be ashamed of himself.
The Clippers owner questioned the HIV-positive basketball great’s moral character, saying he is an unfit role model for children. Magic, who caught word of Sterling’s comments wrote on Twitter:
