[EXCLUSIVE] Jay-Z Says Ex-Employee is a Con Artist: He’s Trying to Extort Me For Money
theJasmineBRAND.com reports, Jay-Z is firing back at the lawsuit filed by his ex-sound engineer, claiming the man is a con artist who already attempted and failed to extort him, and the legal battle is now his 2nd attempt at being awarded money.
Sound engineer Chauncey Mahan filed a federal lawsuit against Roc Nation and Jay-Z earlier this year. He claimed that he was the key producer/creator of the entire body of work from 1999-2000 and wanted a judge to declare he was also the owner of the 6 albums as much as the label itself. He explained in court docs that he was the first masters of Pro Tools production software and was instrumental in creating the sound for the biggest releases such as The Life and Times of S. Carter and The Dynasty album.
